WEB X Closing San Francisco HQ, Relocating Staffers
Departure from City Center
WEB X, the tech giant formerly known as Twitter, has announced plans to close its San Francisco headquarters and relocate its employees to San Jose and Palo Alto. The decision, revealed in an internal email reviewed by The Standard, will impact hundreds of workers currently based in the city's Mid-Market neighborhood.
New Bay Area Hubs
In the email, CEO Linda Yaccarino outlined the company's plans to transition to new primary locations in the Bay Area. These include an existing office in San Jose and shared space with xAI in Palo Alto. The company will facilitate the relocation process for affected employees.
WEB X's decision to leave San Francisco comes amid a broader trend of tech companies seeking cost-effective solutions and flexibility in their workspaces. The move to San Jose and Palo Alto is expected to provide the company with access to a larger pool of talent and reduce overhead expenses.
